Aya Nickola has decided that Osman is becoming to strong and needs to stop before it is too late. He arranges for replacement soldiers to be sent from Constantinople.
Alexander the Christian crusader has arrived at Inegol Castle. He has brought a new crown with him given to Aya Nickola by the Emperor of Constantinople. Aya Nickola is made the head Tekfur of all the Tekfurs in the land. Aya Nickola is told by Alexander that a large force of soldiers are marching towards the Castle and these troops are to be used to wipe out his enemy Osman Bey.
Osman knows that the soldiers are on their way and has to strike quickly before the Christian soldiers arrive at Inegol Castle. As the troop of soldiers near their destination Osman attacks. The battle is savage and the christians are defeated at every turn. The Turks are relentless and there is no call for mercy and none is given.
Savci and Lena’s son Bayhoca, did not want to be treated like a child back in the nomad. His desire was to fight in the holy war alongside Osman and be treated like a man. His mother and father would not let him go. We see him today fighting like a true Turk alongside Osman and his Alps.

Osman is victorious and at the end of the battle. He gives the glory of his victory over to God.
This battle is a turning point for Osman in his pursuit to defeat Aya Nickola. Without the added troops he is clear to attack Inegol Castle. He promises himself that he will see the beloved Kai flag flying above the ramparts of Inegol Castle very soon.
Back at the Kai nomad Bala has nearly completed the building of her new school. She places Hazal Hatun in charge of setting up the tents and Lena Hatun is given the duty of decorating the insides in readiness for the children and teachers.
News of Osman’s victory over the infidels reaches Sogut. The two Roman merchants hear how Aya Nickola has been defeated. Dundar Bey thought isn’t so excited by the news. He feels only jealousy.
Osman returns to the nomad and tells Ali, who is the young boy who’s father was murdered for wanting to join Osman, that he has taken revenge for the death of his father as promised. He gives him his father’s horse and his sword and promises him that as he grows he will ride beside him as one of his Alps. He recruits him to be his eyes and ears around the nomad.
Meanwhile at Inegol Castle, Aya Nickola has created a sculptured mask of clay. He has just been told of the massacre of his troops. He is told that Commander Alexander is alive but wounded. His anger and desire to find and kill Osman escalates. He calls a meeting of all the Tekfurs in the land to help him fight the Turks.
In Kurulus Osman Episode 42 English Subtitles, At the Kais nomad, Osman is treated to a spectacular changing of the guard as they protect their young leader. The tribe praises his name for his victory. In return Osman shares the gold he took from the infidels. Every member of the Kai tribe will receives a share. Osman declares that they will not stop fighting nor will any Turk run away. He declares that God will be given the victory in everything they do.
That evening Osman who has been given a share of the gold from the infidels moves around Sogut draped in a dark cloak so as not to draw attention. He leaves money, food and clothing for the poor. He later returns to his tent to share a meal with his family.
Boran and Gonca share their feelings for each other as their relationship deepens. They ask Osman to set a wedding date and bless their marriage. On the other hand Cerkutay is smitten with Aygul.
Dundar Bey is given another chance to be trusted. He is placed in charge of the trading goods brought into Sogut and which will be sold by the two merchants who are really traitors and Romans. He expects the goods to be sold fairly.
In Kurulus Osman Episode 42 English Subtitles, Dundar Bey accepts his new position but underneath he wants to get back at Osman for putting his bow string around his neck and choking him. He promises his wife that he will make him pay one day.
That evening Osman sits and works on a new flag for the upcoming Islamic State. He hopes this flag will become the flag of Islam all over the world. He orders Bala to get the women to begin weaving his design. He also sits and re-reads his father’s Will.
In their bedroom Bala prepares herself for bed. She lets down her hair thinking it won’t be long before her beloved will join her.
Osman has fallen asleep while designing his new flag. In a dream he is visited by his father Ertugrul, who blesses the new Islamic flag. Ertugrul tells him he has to abide by his Will and that is to marry and for his new bride to produce an heir. In his dream Osman sees a woman with a white shawl over her face. She is carrying a baby, presumable his baby but he cannot see her face.
Osman has not been obedient to Ertugrul in his Will. He is aware that he will break Bala’s heart by choosing another wife but he will have no other choice. He will have to obey his father’s will.
Once Osman awakes from his dream he makes his way into his bedroom where he finds Bala waiting for him. He feels heavy with the burden of what he tell her. He approaches Bala and one look at his face tells her that he is troubled. He takes her hands in his and tells her that his father before he died has ordered him to remarry.
With true courage Bala tells him if his father has willed him to remarry then he must be obedient. Tears well up in her eyes as she tells him to go ahead and obey his father and that this was destined to be their fate. Although she is broken hearted she remains strong. He kisses her when he sees that she has accepted their fate.
In Kurulus Osman Episode 42 English Subtitles, As Osman leaves their bedroom Bala falls to her knees and weeps. Osman can hear her sobbing from the room next door and the sobs rip at his heart.
Osman finds no joy in what he has told her. His heart breaks. He has been promised children but he wanted those children to be with the one he loves. He has now broken the heart of the one he loves the most.
Osman sits in a darkened corner behind his throne with tears running down his face. He asks why so much has been asked of him.
The “Holy Man” enters Osman’s tent. He can see that Osman is sad and burdened. He tells him that he has brought him a present. The present is a small begging dish. He asks Osman to use this dish in the future as a gift from him and that he must begin to beg for knowledge before he can be a great Bey.
The “Holy Man” predicts that Osman’s name will become famous and many decision will be made inside his tent. He also predicts that his name will be on everyones lips and they will call him “Ottoman” and he will guide his people and they will be called the Ottoman’s of this world.
In Kurulus Osman Episode 42 English Subtitles, Osman rises to his feet not feeling sad any longer. He draws strength from the “Holy Man’s” predictions. He gives praise to God. The tears have dried up.
